Canberra’s local early medieval reenactment group.
The Ancient Arts Fellowship is an early medieval re-enactment group based in Canberra. We focus on the history of the early medieval period in Europe and explore a range of historical activities, including combat, craft and food.
The Fellowship has been providing quality entertainment and education to Canberra since the club's founding in 1986. Our members fight safely using period techniques and reproduction armour and weapons, along with some modern safety equipment. We create costume, jewellery, armour and accessories according to documented period styles and feast on food that William the Conqueror would have eaten.
The club focuses on Northern Europe and Britain in the 8th - 11th century, starting with the first Viking raids around AD 790, and ending with the Norman invasion and the Battle of Hastings in AD 1066. However, our members also like to branch out into other locations and other periods.
